More of the new papers...

This card showcases two of the patterns in the new SU! paper pack. They are actually back to back. This is also my first 5x5 card. I love this size!! I'm definitely going to be making more of these! Wanna hear the weird reason I hadn't made one before? I didn't have envelopes in that size. That's it. So I finally remembered to order some and so I made a square card. The card base is Whisper White and the patterned paper is layered on Chocolate Chip with a narrow border showing. The strip across the middle is layered first on white and then on Chocolate Chip. The focal point features the flower from Looks Like Spring. I inked the stamp with Rose Red and then used my Aqua Painter to wet the ink and move it around a bit. Then I stamped and it looks a little watery. I liked the effect. So for the sentiment I used markers to ink the words in Garden Green, Brilliant Blue, Rose Red and Chocolate Chip. The focal image is also layered on Chocolate Chip.

Have you noticed I've been using a lot of Chocolate Chip lately? I can't keep away from it! Every time I put it away, I'm pulling it right back out. It seems to go with everything. I remember as a child in the 70's brown was a very prominent color in decorating. I never liked it then and was so happy when the 80's brought about pinks and blues. I didn't think I would ever like brown for decorating of any kind. Well, as you know, all things come around new and improved and now I have brown tiles throughout my house, a brown couch, and many brown accessories. Not to mention all the brown I'm using on cards! Just another lesson in "never say never"!
